Fake news spreads rapidly, creating panic and confusion among users. People often believe and share false information without verifying its authenticity. Cyberbullying is another major problem. Many users, especially young ones, become victims of online harassment, leading to stress, depression, and even suicidal thoughts. Moreover, social media affects mental health negatively. Seeing others' perfect lives often makes individuals feel inadequate, leading to anxiety and low self-esteem. Additionally, privacy concerns are a big issue. Many social media platforms collect personal data and sell it to third parties without users’ consent. This invasion of privacy can lead to identity theft and fraud. Furthermore, excessive social media usage reduces face-to-face interactions, weakening real-life relationships. People prefer virtual conversations over real ones, leading to social isolation. Lastly, social media can also be a distraction at workplaces, reducing productivity. Employees often waste office hours browsing social media instead of focusing on their tasks. In conclusion, despite its benefits, social media has many disadvantages that affect individuals and society negatively.

Lastly, children are particularly vulnerable, as excessive use of technology can impact their cognitive development. While technology has undoubtedly improved lives, its dark side cannot be ignored.
